As well as being a mum of three, and a Nanny to four beautiful Grandchildren. I have been working with children since 1994. My husband Rod and I were inspired to open our own Preschool from home back in 2006 and so with a garage/utility room and extension this became a reality when we opened our doors for the first time on the 3rd of December 2007.
Our preschool offers both Full Time and Sessional care for Children aged 2 to 5 years. We are registered for a maximum of 12 children per session.

Our Preschool has a very welcoming atmosphere, with all our facilities are located on one level. We have a secure outdoor play area, with grass like carpet and decking for safe play.
We provide care from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday (49 weeks per year). MORNING SESSION – 8am to 1pm (5 hours) AFTERNOON SESSION – 1pm to 6pm (5 hours)

Our Members of Staff
The Staff at Mini Moo’s Preschool are carefully selected and all verified through DBS (Disclosure and barring service).
All staff hold a Level 3 qualification or are working towards this qualification. In addition to this, we may enlist the help of students who are attending college and are working towards these qualifications.
We value professional development amongst the staff which begins with a thorough induction programme. Staff are offered relevant courses when they become available, which will complement and enhance their knowledge and qualifications.
All members of staff are required to train in Paediatric First Aid and Food Safety.
Karen Goodman – Proprietor of Mini Moos Preschool
Becky Haggar – Early Years Manager of Mini Moos Preschool
Becky has always lived in St Leonards-On-Sea. She obtained her BTEC Level 2 in Childcare in 2014 and went onto Bexhill College to obtain her CACHE level 3 in Childcare and Education.
She began her time at Mini Moos as a student and became a permeant member of staff in 2016. Becky is trained in Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene Level 2, and is also the led SENCO and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
In 2016 Becky completed a Team Management Course. She is in a long Term Relationship with her partner Harry. Becky is very enthusiastic and has lots of great ideas. She is also lead Key Carer For out 3-4 year old Children.
Becky took on the role as Early Years Manager in May 2019 and has implemented lots of changes and new ideas and we are excited to see what the future holds.
Emma Selby- Early years Deputy Manager of Mini Moos Preschool
Emma is originally from Ashford Kent and moved to St Leonards-On-Sea in 2009. Emma studied at Bexhill College and obtained her BTEC National Diploma in Early Years in 2011.
Emma joined Mini Moos Preschool in September 2012 and has been a valued member of the team ever since. Emma works Mornings at the preschool in partnership with Nichola.
In August 2014 Emma married her Fiancé Shane.
Emma is Paediatric First Aid trained, SENCO Trained and Child protection Level 2 trained. Emma has recently completed her Safeguarding Lead and Supports Becky with the role. She has completed her Food Hygiene Course. Emma is 2-3 year old key carer.
Emma took on the role of Deputy Manager in May 2019 and is working really well with Becky to implement new ideas into the Preschool. We are looking forward to seeing what the future Holds.
Nichola Joslyn – Early Years Educator at Mini Moos Preschool
Nichola Moved to St Leonards in March 2020 to live with her Fiancé Alex, who she plans to marry in 2021. Nichola is a mum to a 12 year old Daughter.
Nichola has a Foundation degree in Childhood studies and a BA Hons in Early Childhood Education. She also Paediatric first aid trained and is SENCO trained.
Nichola is very Theatrical she loves to sing and has her own Rhyme time group. She also plays the piano. Nichola enjoys Art, she paints and is very creative.
Nichola took on the position as Early Years Educator in August 2020 and will eventually be job sharing the Deputy Managers in partnership with Emma. We are excited what the future holds.
Emergency Contact Numbers
At the time of registering your child, you will be required to provide emergency contact numbers in case we need to contact you regarding your child.
It is imperative that we are able to contact you on these numbers at all times so please provide numbers you know will be available throughout the day.
If your numbers change at any time you must inform us immediately so that we can update the information on your child’s records.

Here at Mini Moo’s we like to make Snack and Meal Times a social time when children eat together. We plan the menus so that we can provide the children with healthy and nutritious food which is cooked on the premises.
Snack time is the children’s choice where the children can select a variety of fruit, vegetables or bread sticks etc.
Please tell us about your child’s dietary needs and we will make sure that these are met.
A weekly menu will be posted on the parent’s board.
Snack Bar – between 09:00 till 09:45
Fruit, Vegetable Sticks, Toast, Crumpets, Pancakes, Bagels and selection of Spreads/Dips.
Packed Lunch – served at Noon
For an Additional charge we provide a Packed Lunch which includes Toasties, Assorted Sandwiches and Sausage Rolls, Cocktail Sausages, bread Sticks, Cheese, Fruit and Yoghurt. You have the option to provide your child’s own Lunch.
Snack Bar – between 14:00 till 14:45
Fruit, Vegetable Sticks, Breadsticks, Crackers, Wraps, Baked rolls and a selection of Spreads/Dips.
Cooked Tea/Dinner – 16:00

Meals vary on a daily basis, we have a 3 week rolling Menu which includes Pasta Meals like Lasagne, Cottage Pie, Fish, Gammon, Jacket Potatoes, Roast Dinners, curry etc along with a pudding. We pride ourselves on providing a well balanced and nutritional menu- All Dietary Requirements are taken into consideration when planning the children’s meals.
Mini Moo’s Preschool Uniform
We would like all children to wear uniform which can be ordered through Preschool.
Your child will be allocated a personalised peg in the cloakroom for hanging coats.
Please label all of your child’s clothing with their name to avoid any misunderstanding.
Please note that here at Mini Moo’s we love messy play and although we provide aprons for the children to wear to protect clothing there may still be the occasional accident.
Can you please provide a change of clothes for your child in case of spillages or accidents.
