Who Are Mini Moo’s Preschool?

My name is Karen Goodman and I am the Proprietor of Mini Moo’s Preschool based in St Leonards on Sea.

As well as being a mum of three, and a Nanny to four beautiful Grandchildren. I have been working with children since 1994. My husband Rod and I were inspired to open our own Preschool from home back in 2006 and so with a garage/utility room and extension this became a reality when we opened our doors for the first time on the 3rd of December 2007.

Our preschool offers both Full Time and Sessional care for Children aged 2 to 5 years. We are registered for a maximum of 12 children per session.

  • 2 to 3 Years Old – 4 Children
  • 3 to 5 Years Old – 8 Children

Our Preschool has a very welcoming atmosphere, with all our facilities are located on one level. We have a secure outdoor play area, with grass like carpet and decking for safe play.

Opening Times

We provide care from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday (49 weeks per year).

MORNING SESSION – 8am to 1pm (5 hours)
AFTERNOON SESSION – 1pm to 6pm (5 hours)

8am to 6pm – Monday
8am to 6pm – Tuesday
8am to 6pm – Wednesday
8am to 6pm – Thursday
8am to 6pm – Friday
CLOSED – Saturday
CLOSED – Sunday

Our Members of Staff

The Staff at Mini Moo’s Preschool are carefully selected and all verified through DBS (Disclosure and barring service).

All staff hold a Level 3 qualification or are working towards this qualification. In addition to this, we may enlist the help of students who are attending college and are working towards these qualifications.

We value professional development amongst the staff which begins with a thorough induction programme. Staff are offered relevant courses when they become available, which will complement and enhance their knowledge and qualifications.

All members of staff are required to train in Paediatric First Aid and Food Safety.

Emergency Contact Numbers

At the time of registering your child, you will be required to provide emergency contact numbers in case we need to contact you regarding your child.

It is imperative that we are able to contact you on these numbers at all times so please provide numbers you know will be available throughout the day.

If your numbers change at any time you must inform us immediately so that we can update the information on your child’s records.

Snacks and Meals

Here at Mini Moo’s we like to make Snack and Meal Times a social time when children eat together. We plan the menus so that we can provide the children with healthy and nutritious food which is cooked on the premises.

Snack time is the children’s choice where the children can select a variety of fruit, vegetables or bread sticks etc.

Please tell us about your child’s dietary needs and we will make sure that these are met.

A weekly menu will be posted on the parent’s board.

Morning Snack time – 10.00am – 10.30am

Fruit, Vegetable Sticks, Toast, Crumpets, Pancakes, Bagels and selection of Spreads/Dips.

Lunchtime 12.00pm

Packed lunches brought in from home

Afternoon Snack time – 2.00pm – 2.30pm

Fruit, Vegetable Sticks, Breadsticks, Crackers, Wraps, Baked rolls and a selection of Spreads/Dips.

Dinner time – 4.00pm

Meals vary on a daily basis, we have a 3 week rolling Menu which includes Pasta Meals like Lasagne, Cottage Pie, Fish, Gammon, Jacket Potatoes, Roast Dinners, curry etc along with a pudding. We pride ourselves on providing a well balanced and nutritional menu- All Dietary Requirements are taken into consideration when planning the children’s meals.

Mini Moo’s Preschool Uniform

We would like all children to wear uniform which can be ordered through Preschool.

Your child will be allocated a personalised peg in the cloakroom for hanging coats.

Please label all of your child’s clothing with their name to avoid any misunderstanding.

Please note that here at Mini Moo’s we love messy play and although we provide aprons for the children to wear to protect clothing there may still be the occasional accident.

Can you please provide a change of clothes for your child in case of spillages or accidents.
